With nearly three decades of experience in accounting and finance, Caron joins our team as the Finance Director, poised to bring invaluable expertise and leadership to our organisation.
Over the past ten years, Caron has held senior leadership positions within the SME sector, excelling in supporting businesses to formulate and achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
Her journey is marked by the esteemed qualification of FCCA and a remarkable ability to develop commercial financial models and strategic plans, collaborating closely with stakeholders. We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Caron to understand her motivations and aspirations as she embarks on this new chapter with Impel Talent.
Why did you join Impel Talent?
“Impel Talent holds values and beliefs that resonate strongly with me. The opportunity to work within a company where I can make a contribution as both a Finance Professional and as a member of the coaching and leadership development team is very exciting to me.“
What do you love about your role?
“I love being part of something bigger than myself where I have the opportunity to make a contribution to the company’s journey towards growth and success. In my role, I get to interact with all the team members as well as outside stakeholders which cultivates a true sense of belonging.“
How did you get into finance?
“It started with a bookkeeping job after university. From there, my inherent curiosity turned me into an investigator and researcher as I worked my way through the finance and accounting world. I now find myself fascinated by the stories behind the numbers. These stories can unlock truths and aid business decision-making. Finance is far more than a back-office function and with the insight it brings can transform a business by bringing its vision to life and supporting the achievement of its objectives and goals. This is what drives me today.“
What are you passionate about?
“I am passionate about helping individuals, businesses, organisations and communities. I love what they do and find fulfilment in doing it. The key lies in identifying our purpose, aligning our work and personal life with it and progressing towards fulfilling that purpose.“
What is one piece of advice you wish you could tell yourself 10 years ago?
“Enjoy every moment as much as you can and avoid over-planning! Plans change. Instead embrace agility and flexibility. Focus on those things that spark joy and passion. Dare to be courageous and brave in pursuing the life you crave.“
What do you do to relax and unwind outside of work?
“I spend time with my family and friends. I love all creative things – painting, ceramics, furniture renovation, music – I play the piano, cooking/baking and keeping fit by going for long walks and running in the woods with my dog! “
