Impel Talent is excited to partner with a one of the largest space companies in Europe on building a team focused on the GNC strategy for a unmanned, state-of-the-art reusable space vehicle. This is the opportunity to work on ground breaking technology
You will be in charge of coordinating the Orbital GNC and Navigation unit, leading a team of 3-4 people to design, validate and qualify GNC algorithms for orbital platforms, service modules and navigation units
Responsibilities:
- Derivation of GNC/AOCS specifications from high-level requirement
- R&D relating to algorithms in the field of control, pointing and navigation
- Writing/modifying SW prototypes, Modeling of dynamics, disturbances and complex systems (6dof model and multibody)
- Drafting validation plans for test campaigns, including Hardware-In-The-Loop test campaigns. Verification of performances in closed and open loop
The following management activities fall within the role:
– Coordination of resources and planning of AOCS & NAV team activities
– Coordination with the different Technical Authorities of the various disciplines
– Interface with external teams, both institutional (ESA, ASI) and commercial (Subcos)
– Management of the formal flow of activities for the preparation of the different reviews
You will report directly to the team leader of the MGS group (Flight Mechanics / GNC /
Flight Software).
Technical Requirements:
- master degree in aerospace or aeronautical engineering;
- years of experience in projects related to GNC design/validation of satellite systems/orbital platforms/navigation;
- Solid basic preparation transversal to the various disciplines of the aerospace field (orbital flight mechanics, GNC, solid and liquid propulsion, structures, thermal)
